Coreg is a Beta Blocker. Generic name is Carvedolol. Used to treat Congestive Heart Failure(CHF) This drug decreases the heart rate and increases the cardiac output and the long term effect for this drug is Cardiac Remodeling.

Cardiac Remodeling is the change in shape of the heart from basketball ball to football ball shaped heart. Usually Heart Failure patients has cadiomegally which means the heart increased in size, which could be like a basketball ball shape. But if a Cogestive Heart Failure patient will take Coreg, together with other CHF meds, usually the heart in months returns to its normal shape.

Coreg is a small pill and cheap so if you have CHF don’t forget, take it as prescribed.
