About Lung Transplant

I have seen patients here at Baylor University Medical Center who has been transplanted with a donor lung for the debilitating effects of Cystic Fibrosis and other reasons.  After five years, we call it the Golden Years for transplanted recipients, and I have seen patients who have survived longer than 10 years and not have any problems with rejection as long as they are religious with taking their transplant meds, but the one who survives longer are those patients who have been transplanted at young age.
